1st stage of France Poker Tour: A great success

The first step of the France Poker Tour held in Carrousel du Louvre from the 29th to the 30th of August encountered the desired success. This inaugural step drained 1,500 professional and amateur poker players. Like any respectable big poker tournament, France Poker Tour hadn’t take place without the presence of celebrities. Among these famous persons, the coming of the former French international football player Vikash Dhorasoo and the singer Patrick Bruel was noted. These two days had confirmed the success of poker in France. The participants, whose majority of them are poker online players and who played on Saturday their first live poker tournament, expected perhaps a weak "Frenchie" tournament but it was not the case.

With its 1,500 competitors and 150 tables, the France Poker Tour had nothing to envy to other events such as the WSOP or the WPT. Lighting effects and sound accompaniment made of this Parisian stage a memorable event worthy of a great show in Las Vegas and the massive presence of many photographers and TV cameras had accentuated this view. The first day was not particularly tender for participants, 1,000 of them had get out of the tournament at the end of this day. In all, a little less than 300 players were able to cross the Day 1. On Sunday, the level was more difficult and the nervousness which hung in the room was almost palpable. This tension fell only approximately at 19: 30 p.m. when 30 players had finally claim victory. They have in pocket their ticket for the final held in Paris in January.
