Phil Ivey: $1.1million of loss in case of victory in WSOP

In the world of poker professional players, there is another discipline which consists in launching bets as crazy as absurd. The latest is the one launched by the Danish Gus Hansen to the "Tiger Woods” of poker Phil Ivey. When we know that both characters are two inveterate punters, we imagine easily that the stake will be out of the ordinary. Indeed, Phil Ivey could lose $1.1 million if he wins the finale of the Main Event of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) and this sum will go to Gus Hansen. This last will offer $20,000 to Ivey if this poker player does not win the Main Event of the WSOP. If the opposite occur, it’s Hansen who will leave with the 1.1 million of dollars on the 8.5 millions which would be won by the "Tiger Woods" of poker in case of victory. He loses or he wins, it is simply about a bet winning/winning for Ivey.

This prop bets was revealed for the first time by "Great Dane" during a session of chat with his fans. Gus also tells on his blog the origin of this bet which was born in Bobby’s Room of the hotel Bellagio. The Dane said that he was then playing with Tom "Durrrr" Dwan, Bobby Baldwin when Ivey arrived after the Day1 of the Main Event of the World Series of Poker, when he tried to get an offer of 200 against one but declined by Ivey. At the second day, both players agreed on a rate of 55/1 against the victory of the American wonder. But with a 2nd WSOP bracelet, Ivey can also leave with a total of $12 millions. Phil Gordon and Eli Elezra are indeed included in the bet with a $2.2 millions contribution as well as several punters.
