Aussie Millions: Poker in the wallaby’s country
We rather knew Australia for rugby or the tennis tournament Open of Australia, but true amateurs of poker knew it too for "Aussie Millions". While the north hemisphere shivers in the wintry cold, it will be the summer on the island continent where will take place Aussie Millions, the biggest tournament of poker of the southern hemisphere. During two weeks, from January the 14th till the 31st, 2010, Melbourne will doubtless be the world capital of poker because of this tournament, one of the most important competitions which will begin after the New Year. Aussie Millions which celebrated last year its ten years of existence is the sixth biggest tournament of poker in the world. And according to statistics, the tournament shows an exponential growth if the number of participants and the amount of the gains, more than 8 million of dollars of prize among which 2 millions given to the winner, are considered. This poker tournament becomes well-known year by year and will certainly be at the level of its famous American and European homologues, by a few times.
The Main Event will take place at the mythical Crown Casino Resort from January the 24th till the 31st, 2010 with a buy-in fixed at 10, 500 Australian dollars. During this Australian festival of poker, about twenty multi variant tournaments will be proposed outside the main tournament. These multi variant tournaments will include for example High Roller of $100,000 played in two days or a HORSE.
