World Team of poker: A newcomer in the poker planet
After the World Cup of poker (WCP) which takes place every year, a new named event "World Team of poker" has just made its appearance. It claims to be the first professional "sports" league of poker in the world. The championship was officially launched on Wednesday the 5th August, in Bicycle Casino of Los Angeles. The final structure of the league is still to be determined but we already know that it will include 32 teams of 5 players which are going to represent countries in the four corners of the world. World Team Poker has already chosen the captains of teams among the cream of the game. These captains are going to select their team-mates. As example, the American team will be taken by Phil Hellmuth, the man with 11 WSOP bracelets and at the same time record holder of victories in this championship.
During his speech the creator of World Team Poker, Robert declared "we are excited by the fact of having been able to bring legendary players, as Phil (Helmut) and Johnny (Chan) in this event, we have as objective to sign with the biggest players of the world for the World Team Poker, and we are going to organize exceptional events.» This new championship promises to be attractive in view of its slogan « Pride, Passion, Country ». We should expect an epic competition, because the representatives will have the difficult task to defend the colours of their respective flags what will take logically an infatuation in the game. World Team of poker is announced as world championships or Olympics games of poker.
