European Capital of Poker: Dublin re-elected

After having won the title of the best European City of Poker, last year, the capital of Ireland, Dublin, has just been distinguished again for this title this year. The annual classification established by the magazine Bluff has just indeed elected this city as the best place of the Old Continent to play poker. The popularity of poker, the existence of a wide choice of places where it is possible to play poker as well as their conviviality were among the criteria imposed in this sorting. London which was the main holder of this title is now more and more far from it because the last time it receives the title was in 2007.

The reception of the Irish Poker Open, the live poker tournament invented by the Irish bookmaker Terry Rogers is among the criteria which also held the application of Dublin. Indeed, this tournament is considered as the best poker live tournament for amateurs in the world and its success was a decisive criterion in the designation of Dublin. According to the organizers of this competition of the European Capital of Poker, the countries which apply a restrictive legislation towards poker are necessarily excluded from this title. Moscow, a city of which Kremlin has just decreed that the presence of any casino and poker clubs is prohibited will not appear so soon in this classification. With this second consecutive title, the Irish capital joins places which are well known by poker enthusiasts as Las Vegas, Macao, Atlantic City… as destination for entertainment.
