Florida : A study launched in order to frame the liberalization of online poker
American attempts wanting to frame online poker and gambles don’t stop to harden year by year. After the different money transfer freeze bound for several players done by American authorities, of which more than $30 millions were concerned, legislations of every State contribute to limit it more and more. In Florida, the governor of this State, Charlie grist has just signed the government bill aiming to lead a study about inland impact of the legislation of poker. As first consequence, passing an eventual text intended for protecting residents of Florida State against games on poker websites installed outside the American territory would be considered.
« We have to make sure that the model which gets through is meaningful for the customers and it creates an exemplary business ensuring significant revenue for the State”, Jim Tabilio, president of the American Poker Ventures (APV) and the Poker Voters for America (PVA), asserts. In a way, the study would grant the establishment of a politic entirely protectionist concerning sites of online gambles, becoming restricted only at online poker rooms implanted in Florida. Reference sites like Poker 770, Casino Riva… would be prohibited entirely from 2010 in this State of the American eastern Coast even though this game is legal. “It would be possible that it takes so much time in Florida than in California for solving this legislative problem”, M. Tabilio continues.
