« Kill Elky » : A new book about poker translated and signed by Grospellier
The one of the greatest French poker players, an ancient gamer living in South Korea and specialist on the video game Star Craf, Bertrand “Elky” Grospellier has just resumed the book written by the American Lee Nelson. This book written by this successful tournament player, entitled “Kill Everyone” talk about his vision of poker universe in change since the beginning of the year 2000 with the coming of a new generation of online poker players of which number is on the way to explode. Elky bring his way to play apart from the one already discussed in the novel work supposed by Nelson Lee as a method allowing the reader to fast master poker, to become a professional during less than 3 years and the best is that henceforth amateurs can have access to the trophy during WSOP tournaments if before this was reserved only for genius.
These two great players who already had heads-up during Monte Carlo EPT 2008, have two different ways to analyse the Texas no limit holdem: Nelson Lee chooses mathematical approach to play on poker because according to him “ different techniques, intended for accumulating chips, can be based on mathematical models” what he showed in “Kill Everyone”. For him the main thing is to be able to understand the game’s mechanics. But “Elky” who is a player leaded by instinct knocks over all these scientific theories because according to him understanding the “dynamics of the table” is the most important and accumulating chips is not enough because the target is to win the tournament and to get the first prize.
