After having won the World Poker Tour (WPT) and after his consecration as a player of the season 5 of this tournament, J.C Tran unveils too his talent at the World Series of Poker. The first bracelet he won during the 2008 edition of WSOP has just been filled up. He impressed during the Event#30 in the $2,500 Pot-Limit Omaha. Nevertheless, the finale table of this meeting gathered players like John “Luckbox” Juanda, the French player Philippe Léandri, Theo Jorgensen, Jeff Kimber… However, the holder of four WSOP bracelets, John Juanda didn’t resist long during this competition, he was the first to be eliminated during this finale.

The competition tightened after he left. One hour later, Jean Philippe Léandri tears out from the Saoudian Rami Boukai’s hands more than 60,000 chips. By showing his talent, J.C Tran eliminates then successively Theo Jorgensen (8th) and Chad Layne (7th) in succession. Rami Boukai’s turn is coming some hands later when he gave his entire stack face to Léandri and Tran. And the Saoudian’s cards didn’t allow him to defeat the French player’s straight Flush. After that, Dallas Flowers and Ross Boatman were eliminated at their turn. During the final trio, J.C Tran leaded with 1,800,000 chips, 1,300,000 for Kimber and 400,000 for the French. Léandri was quickly eliminated because of this disadvantage but he won a remarkable 3rd position and $96,000 of gain. The final heads’ up was well played, JC Tran’s advantage was nearly threatened but he resisted until the end face to the British. With this victory, Tran won another bracelet and a $235.685 gain.
