Hall of Fame: Surfers are eligible for voting
After having enrolled among its members in 2008 Dewey Tomko and Henry Orenstein, the famous temple of poker legends, Hall of Fame of the World Series of Poker which foresees to enthrone new members this year, decides to adopt a new formula. From this year, legendary players who can become a member of this pantheon are those who are the most appreciated by public. For the first time, surfers are then accepted to carry out vote for designating players they like and that they want to see the name registered in this temple of poker legends. For this year, the vote is open until the 2nd of July 2009. The 10 players names held by the public will be announced by the WSOP organizer, Harrah’s Entertainment during the great final of this November tournament. However, all poker players aren’t accepted for this enrollment. Some criterions are necessary like the fact of having played during High stakes competitions, having been present at greater tournaments and being a constantly participant in these tournaments. The chosen player should also be a player who already won other players’ respect during these competitions and should be someone endowing great longevity during these tests. Someone who contributed to give long-lasting success to poker is eligible for this vote, too. Websites employing professional players called then surfers in statement to vote for their team members. Note that Hall of Fame which enrolls greater poker legends since 1979 count up now 37 members like Barbara Enright, Phil Hellmuth, Billy Baxter, Berry Johnston…
