WSOP: The tournament gives its support to Nevada Cancer Institute
With the numerous poker charity tournaments dedicated to support aid organization or Institute of research on incurable diseases, WSOP organizers decided too to associate the image of this tournament with tasks having the same objective. From this year on, starting from Las Vegas edition which will begin before long, WSOP organizers have resolved to collaborate with Nevada Cancer Institute. Indeed, gamers’ gains won’t be given to this charitable trust, but the original idea to let every participant to give or not, a tiny part of their prize to the institute is suggested. By mentioning in advance to the casino employee his wish to get taken on this donation, every player winner will give at once 1% of his gain to Nevada Cancer Institute. Moreover, WSOP organizers undertake to transfer the collected funds to the institution. The VIP lounge “Aces Club”, especially dedicated to players who paid registration expenses with this aid for the research against cancer in option, will be one of the players’ bonus. And those who will achieve to the finale table will get as well gift from this institute fighting against cancer. Tournaments like “Ante Up For Africa” in which the total of the collected sum is reserved to Darfour childs, a tournament supported by the cinema player Don Ceadle, “Bad Beat on Cancer”, another tournament dedicated to fight against cancer and other initiatives with humanitarian purpose were already launched in the poker world.
