WSOP : Poker tournaments in Quebec designate their representatives
A few times before the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas, the greatest poker tournament that players all around the world are waiting impatiently, different players qualified for this stage are already known. At the end of the different battleships and satellites which are played through the world, numerous amateurs but talented will be present at the end of this tournament. The league of poker tournament of Quebec (LTPQ) which held on last May 18th the session 2-Season 2 of the tournament that they organize has just found the player representative of this country at the WSOP. Philip Isabelle, a player from Saint-Gervais, used to the “Bar au Sportif” of the same region, in Bellechasse-Etchemins won the second position among 490 participants at this tournament. For this performance, he will participate so at the $1,500 Hold’em no limit tournament of this WSOP 54th edition. Remarkable, this young player won also the 9th position at the tournament first stage – Season 2 which took place the day before the Tournament stage 2. More than 420 players were present at this competition. For the Super finale of the LTPQ stage which will take place on November, a prize of $ 100,000 is waiting for the winners. But talking again about WSOP, the 2008 version, which recorded the participation of 2,693 players at the beginning of the tournament, allowed to share a prize pool of $3,675,945. David Daneshgar, the winner of this edition swiped $625,443.
