Gambling times: Complaint against the poker player Scott Lazar

Even if the film titled « Deal » produced by the professional poker player, Scott Lazar was a catastrophe at the box office, Gambling Times Company which signed a contract with his producer lodges a complaint. Even if GT already paid an amount of $50,000 for the purpose of being visible in « Deal », during the projection in 2008 of this film based on poker and in which Burt Reynolds and Shannon Elizabeth play, any Gambling Times mark appeared in. Nevertheless, this mark had to be highly visible on. So, in its complaint lodged at Los Angeles law-courts, the company is claiming to the producer $1 million of damages.

With only $80, 000 of receipt during the projection of the film, « Deal » is considered as a really mediocre film. The film script is talking about a poker party between an exceptionally gifted at poker (Bret Harrison) and a legend at this game (Burt Reynolds), playing heads up at the WSOP final table, at the end. As for her, Shannon Elisabeth is a call-girl, attracting the young hero. But facing this catastrophe concerning the film success, nobody understands the reason which leads Gambling Times to claim damages so high, $1 million. Or else, the company is still thinking about the $1,500,000 earned by Scott Lazar during his qualification at the WSOP final table in 2005. At that time, Scott Lazar took the sixth position, in the Main Event.
