Poker Dome Challenge to Kick off Next Week in Las Vegas

This weekend, MANSION Poker, a prominent online poker room, will introduce the Poker Dome Challenge, a new poker competition concept involving "speed poker". The Poker Dome Challenge will be divided into six seven-week blocks. The winner of each heat will scoop $25,000 and move on to the semifinal round, where he will compete for $50,000 and a seat to the grand finale. Those players, who make it to the final table scheduled for mid-March of next year, will compete for a $1 million grand prize.

Participants will play in an isolated and soundproof room full of cameras. The six poker players will be given 15 seconds to make a move before their hand will ultimately be declared dead. The audience will be seated in a separate arena where plasma screens will show them each player's current situation – from their hole cards to their chip counts and even their heart rates.

Next Wednesday, MANSIONPoker.net and FOX Sports’ Poker Dome will host a party at the Venetian's TAO nightclub to mark the official launch of the 43-week series. The grand event will be attended by prominent figures, such as Executive Vice President of FOX Sports George Greenberg, Mansion Poker’s Chief Operating Officer David Kinsman, and Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman.
