Unemployed Cook Wins $250,000 at New York Post's Poker Scratch N' Win Game

Many poker experts insist that even though poker involves luck, it is first and foremost a game of skill. However, in a recent poker win, no particular skill was required: all it took was a nail and a scratch. That is how Curtis McClain, a South Bronx resident, won $250,000 at the New York Post Poker Scratch N' Win game. That day, the Post brought good news for McClain. The poker game's winning five aces helped him make it to the headlines.

The former hospital-food chef had no idea that poker could be so thrilling. His emotions ran so high that he had to get his sister Sherell to claim the poker prize for him. McClain, who has Irish ancestors, reportedly attributed his good fortune to "the luck of the Irish." When asked what he intended to do with this huge poker prize, the lucky winner, who has two children and as many grandchildren, said he would share it with his family.
