Microgaming Reshuffling Means Goodbye for Monte Carlo Millions Poker Tournament
Online gaming software developer Microgaming announced that it had decided to phase out two of its brands, bringing them instead under the consolidated Microgaming brand. Online poker network “The Prima Network" and the “Jackpot Madness" progressive game network will become part of a new Microgaming website. Opting for the “out with the old, and in with the new" approach, Microgaming has also decided to abandon the prestigious Monte Carlo Millions poker tournament, which had been sponsored by the Prima Network. Microgaming issued a statement, saying that, in place of the Monte Carlo poker tournament, the software giant was considering other ambitious marketing efforts. Microgaming CEO Roger Raatgever said that, for the past 10 years, “separate brand names have served us brilliantly and helped our operators attract millions of new players to online gaming. Now we are entering a new stage of growth and we believe that by making these changes we are ready for this new era."
