Forrest Crucifies Jesus in Heads-Up Poker Championship
The “close, but no cigar" award goes to Chris “Jesus" Ferguson, who, for the second year in a row, has finished in runner-up position in NBC's Head's-Up Poker Championship. The Heads-Up tournament brought together the creme de la creme of poker for a series of one-on-one matches. In the end, after 62 of pro poker's most illustrious players busted out, it was Ted Forrest up against the defending runner-up, if there is such a thing, Chris Ferguson. The pair played three heads-up games, with Ferguson winning the first, but losing the latter two to Forrest, and, thus, forfeiting the championship. Although he had to settle for second best, for the second year in a row, Ferguson's second second-place finish proves that his heads-up poker performance was not a fluke, rather it was due to downright prowess. Many of the most regarded poker players on the tournament circuit didn't even make it past round one. This list includes Phil Ivey and last year's Heads-Up Champion, Phil Hellmuth. Kudos to Ferguson for managing to make it twice to #2. Oh, and Forrest, congrats to you too.
