Less than a month after becoming the new face and rack of the World Poker Tour (WPT), Courtney Friel is showing off both in a new video on Maxim's website. The former small-time newscaster is now benefiting from some international syndication with her Maxim Online video shoot. As Friel is the newest face of poker, Maxim thought it “artfully" fitting to have her sprawled out across a poker table, flanked by a few haphazardly strewn poker cards and chips.

Friel took over for the WPT's former hostess, Shana Hiatt, after the latter decided to quit at the end of last season. Friel brings to the poker hostess position a background in journalism, and, no, not the Naked News. Indeed, Friel reported for Los Angeles' Channel One and also worked as an anchor and reported in Jackson, Tennessee. The poker hostess has also done some work with E! and Nickelodeon.
