Doyle Brunson Online Poker Room Courts PartyGaming CEO

Soon-departing PartyGaming CEO Richard Segal is a hot commodity. Instrumental in taking the online poker giant through its highly-publicized IPO and a number of additional revenue-boosting changes, Segal has been widely recognized as a powerful force in the online poker industry. Less than a week following PartyGaming's announced that Segal would be leaving the company after 18 months of leadership, DoylesRoom.com announced that it was courting Segal to take the Doyle Brunson-endorsed online poker room under his wing.

DoylesRoom.com will undoubtedly not be the last company to make Segal such an offer. Having achieved so much while at PartyGaming, Segal has proved that, in the world of online poker, he can move mountains. Depending on the other offers that Segal receives, a future career at DoylesRoom.com is iffy at best, particularly considering the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) affair in which the online poker site is currently embroiled. Poker Pro Doyle Brunson's namesake online poker site is under investigation by the SEC in connection with an unsolicited bid it made to acquire World Poker Tour Enterprises last year. This may be reason enough for Segal to hold out for other bids.
