Betfair's online poker site is workin' it for the ladies. In an effort to inject a little more estrogen into the world of online poker, Betfair launched its “Ladies Night" initiative earlier this week. Throughout the month of March, Betfair is giving women a risk-free opportunity to sharpen their poker skills and overall knowledge of the game, while also vying for cash and other prizes. Betfair is hosting a women-only freeroll every Tuesday of the month, each boasting a £500 (approximately $872) prize pool. Via the freerolls, 30 players will qualify for a live final event, the winner of which will earn a seat at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) ladies event.

In addition, upon signing up for any of the freerolls, players are entered into a random prize drawing. One woman in each freeroll will win an “Ultimate Night In" prize package, what we like to call “Operation Rent a Babe." In short, winners of the drawing will have a poker night hosted at their homes by a handsome male dealer. The lucky lady and nine of her friends will be pampered with wine, canapes, cards, poker chips, etc. Having such an attention-grabbing poker host will likely help train these poker-playing ladies to concentrate in the most distracting of situations at the felt, if they can manage to keep their eyes on the cards, that is.
