Foxwoods Casino's new poker room, the plans for which were announced in October, 2005, is slated to open next month featuring the World Poker Tour (WPT) brand name. Already the biggest casino in the world, Foxwoods' new poker room will also make it one of the biggest card rooms worldwide. The new WPT card room will increase the number of tables in the casino by 50 percent, from the current 76 to an impressive 114.

Boasting a longtime partnership with the WPT, Foxwoods constitutes a fitting home for the first WPT-branded poker room. Other than being the first casino to house a WPT poker room, Foxwoods was also the first casino to sign with the tour, when it launched four years ago.
