Online Poker Room PokerStars.com Gives VIPs the Star Treatment
Online poker room PokerStars.com recently launched a new VIP player incentive program that was conceived specifically with poker players in mind. Instead of just dishing out run-of-the-mill cash bonuses, PokerStars is also handing out a variety of high-tech toys, exotic getaways, and the like. Players are awarded prizes through VIP Player Points they earn by playing at the site.
PokerStars hosts three poker stars of its own: WSOP champions Chris Moneymaker, Greg Raymer, and Joe Hachem. VIP players can earn the opportunity to play poker online against PokerStars' resident pros. Additionally, based on the number of points they have accrued, online poker players can potentially earn any of the following prizes: Poker Stars gear, iPod nanos, plasma computer monitors and televisions, a Porsche Cayman, and gift certificates for travel on Expedia.com. In addition, keeping with the theme of the site, online poker players can also earn the privilege of acquiring and naming a star.
