Poker Gets a Good Deal from Calamity Jane
Gunslinging cowgirl Calamity Jane has “risen" from the grave just to play a few games of Texas hold 'em. Yes, she died more than a century ago, but for poker dealer/impersonator Dianne Gleason, Calamity Jane is as alive as ever. Gleason will be infusing life into Calamity Jane when she gets into character for a series of cash games and a Texas hold 'em tournament in Laurel, Montana, just a hop, skip, and a jump from Jane's old haunt, Horse Cache, located just north of Laurel. Dianne Gleason as Calamity Jane will deal at the Locomotive Restaurant and Casino in Laurel over the weekend, and at a $100 buy-in Calamity Jane Texas hold 'em tournament scheduled for February 5. The Calamity Jane impersonation is a regular gig for Gleason, who also deals poker in the name of the famed cowgirl in another bar in the state. When not playing the role of Calamity Jane, Gleason is often playing poker as herself. She can be seen playing in the World Poker Tour, to be broadcast March 27-30 on the Travel Channel.
