Poker Academy Texas Holdem Brings Artificial Intelligence Educational Tool to UK and Scandinavia

Video game publisher Merscom LLC is helping bring “Poker Academy Texas Holdem," an advanced poker tutorial program, to the UK and Scandinavia. The Poker Academy software makes use of the “Poki" artificial intelligence system for poker, which allows the computer to adapt its “playing style" to that of the human player, posing more of a challenge than other computerized poker tutorials. Ten years of research went into developing the Poki technology, and the result has garnered positive feedback from both recreational and professional poker players.

Essentially, Poker Academy Texas Holdem is a poker bot working on learning algorithms based on statistical modeling, neural networks, and an in-depth understanding of game theory. Where bots, however, do the work for the player, the Poker Academy software gives the player the tools with which to win on his or her own.

Now, budding poker players in the UK and Scandinavia can benefit from the same high-tech help that has already caught on in North America. Regarding the move, Kurt Lange, president and chief executive of Poker Academy, said, “We are excited about having Jay and his team at Merscom bring the hottest Holdem game on the market overseas."
