Retired Soccer Player Goes Pro, Poker That Is
Former professional soccer player Tony Cascarino is officially pursuing a professional career in a sport of another color, namely poker. Although in the past, Cascarino has played poker semi-professionally, even appearing on a British celebrity poker television show, the former striker is now looking to strike it rich on the felt full time. Cascarino is currently on the Caribbean island of St Kitts for the Caribbean Poker Classic. He's up against about 200 top players who are all vying for a piece of the $2 million prize pool. Tony Cascarino has truly shifted his focus to gaming, and is even lending his support for efforts to build the UK's first supercasino at Glasgow's Ibrox Stadium. Cascarino played soccer for a number of Irish and English teams, as well as for a couple of French leagues. Let's hope that Cascarino gets a few good hands, especially after a career that didn't exactly let him use them.
