The Fox Poker Club Slated to Become Britain's First Licensed Card Room
The London poker scene may be getting its first fully-licensed poker club as soon as early 2006. The Fox Poker Club, a high-scale, members-only card room, has applied for a casino license, which if granted, will make it the first licensed stand-alone poker club not just in London, but in the whole of Britain as well. The Fox Poker Club will be located in the Mayfair area of central London, next door to The Fox Club, the future card-room's sister club. The club's founders plan to have the card room house 200 seats used exclusively for Poker play. Regarding the venture to open what will be one of the largest poker rooms in London, club founder Chris North commented, “We wanted to open a club dedicated to poker that was legally allowed to offer the full range of Poker properly regulated and in a secure environment." The Fox Poker Club is selling itself as an exclusive establishment, and as such, membership is limited. Poker aficionados can apply in advance for membership through the club's website, www.foxclubpoker.com.
