WPT Enterprises Negotiates Broadcast Deal with Travel Channel, but Still Suing

Although still pursuing legal action against the Travel Channel, WPT Enterprises (WPTE) is reportedly in negotiations with the very same network regarding further partnership opportunities. WPTE originally filed the lawsuit, claiming that the Travel Channel had interfered with potential third party contractual relationships connected with the Professional Poker Tour (PPT), a new program developed by WPTE. WPTE perceived this interference as constituting a breach of the Travel Channel's contractual obligations.

The lawsuit was filed with in the California Superior Court on September 19, 2005; however, since that date, the third party suitor has withdrawn its offer. With the offer withdrawn, WPTE announced that it had entered negotiations with the Travel Channel regarding broadcast of the Professional Poker Tour. Despite negotiations, WPTE has not dropped the related lawsuit.
