New Poker Book Provides a Guide for the Female Poker Player
New York City girl, born and raised, Toby Bochan began playing poker at the tender age of seven. Now she's trying to help women all over the world learn how they can break into the often cutthroat and male-dominated world of poker. Her first book, The Badass Girl's Guide to Poker: All you need to beat the boys, gives women tips on how being of the fairer sex can actually work for them, rather than against them in poker. The book even includes a chapter entitled “Playing the Dumb Blond: Using being female to your advantage." And if you though poker was just about competition, skills and money, Bochan apparently sees poker as a viable platform for meeting men as well, devoting an entire section to love and poker. Bochan recently dropped in on the University of Pennsylvania's campus bookstore to promote the book, and to play a little Texas hold'em with the evening's visitors. Her U Penn stop was the first in a host of promotional events to take place across the United States.
