Online Poker Room PokerShare.com Bids $100k to Rename Rural Kentucky Hamlet
In a move resembling the marketing strategies of the highly publicized online casino, Golden Palace, newly founded online poker room PokerShare.com has reportedly laid down an offer of $100,000 to make its mark on a rural Kentucky hamlet, by the name of Sharer. Poker Share has publicized its bid to change Sharer's name to PokerShare.com, but the offer has so far fallen on deaf ears. The tiny rural community of Sharer has no mayor and no city council, and thus, finding an official to consider the poker site's offer has proven somewhat difficult. Nonetheless, a representative for Poker Share has reportedly been in contact with Hugh Evans, Butler County Judge-Executive, who was reported as providing a less than favorable forecast for the offer. Even with an offer as rich as $100k, the conservative deep south Kentucky hamlet may frown on its source.
