College Students -- “Win Your Tuition” at online poker room Absolute Poker
With the fall college semester in full swing, online poker room Absolute Poker is bringing back its “Win Your Tuition" competition, giving poker-playing college kids the chance to win their spring semester's tuition. Entering the contest, which will be possible up through October 6, is free. The only requirements for students to fulfill is enrollment in the spring 2006 semester, good academic standing and of course, computer access.
Every weekend preceding the October 15th main event, Absolute Poker will host freeroll tournaments, as well as satellite qualifiers starting October 10. For every satellite tournament, Absolute Poker will enter the top 20 percent of players from the tourney into the final event.
The current title-holder in Absolute Poker's “Win Your Tuition" competition, Derek Dilberian, a law student at the University of Florida, is planning on trying his hand at winning another semester of paid tuition. "After I signed up to play in the last tournament, I was sure that it was a joke. It was free so I went ahead and competed and had a good time. When I won, I found out it was for real and, sure enough, my tuition was paid in full. You can bet I'm going to try to repeat my win this fall."
