In its efforts to boost poker playership among women, The Ladies International Poker Series (LIPS) Tour has launched a new initiative, aiming to involve women outside of the classic casino environment. Whereas the LIPS Tour has sponsored manly casino poker games until now, the new branch, coined "Ladies' Poker Night," will aim at encouraging poker play among women from all locales, with or without a casino.

Ladies' Poker Night is a fledgling poker league designed to unite women from all over, whether they play in a casino, bar, restaurant, or even at home. Women can organize their own poker games and register to have them included in the league. Guidelines for setting up Ladies' Poker Night-sanctioned games are available at the league's official website, ladiespokernight.com. By playing in league games, women are eligible to earn points going towards entry into the LIPS Tour Grand Championship, slated for May 2006 at Binion's on the Vegas Strip.
