WPT Enterprises, Inc. (WPTE) yesterday released information regarding the company's recent legal victories in the area of intellectual property infringement, reiterating WPTE's aggressive stance against copyright and trademark violations. WPTE won intellectual property litigations against televised poker show The Ultimate Poker Challenge, online poker forum 5thstreet.proboards39.com, WPTonline.com doppelganger site Playworldpokertour.net, online gaming software provider WagerLogic Ltd., World Poker Tour imposter Mid-Ohio Super Satellite No Limit Championship, as well as World Poker Productions, Inc., Wpt.cl and Worldpokertour.cl.

"WPTE has taken action in these cases and secured agreeable settlements and/or court-ordered injunctive relief in order to avoid confusion among poker players, to prevent the proliferation of unauthorized 'knock-off' merchandise, and to protect against the dilution of and harm to its valuable copyrighted material, trademarks and strong brand," noted Robert S. Gerber, a partner in Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP's Intellectual Property practice group, the outside counsel enlisted by WPTE.
