Australian Casino Brings Back Poker
SkyCity Adelaide, a casino in South Australia, is reintroducing poker following a four year hiatus from the game. Citing waning popularity as the motivation for shutting out poker games in 2001, the casino has rethought this move after poker's worldwide renaissance over the past couple of years.
SkyCity Adelaide has a rich history in the world of poker, having hosted the Australian Poker Championships for 13 years. It was also the first Australian casino to offer the games Texas hold'em and Omaha.
In honor of poker's return, SkyCity Adelaide is hosting a special Texas hold'em tourney for 60 poker players. After the first week, regular games of hold'em, Omaha and Manilla poker will be played, each on a weekly basis.
