Texas Resident Enters WSOP Thanks to Online Poker Blunder
Robert Guinther of Killeen, Texas recently made perhaps the most valuable error of his life. While playing poker online, Guinther accidentally entered into a $100 buy-in World Series of Poker qualifier tournament, instead of the $10 tournament he thought he was playing. Guinther went on to beat the other 180 contenders vying for a seat at the WSOP championship event, which kicks off this Thursday.
By accidentally shelling out $100 for the online satellite tournament, Guinther effectively saved himself the WSOP's $10,000 buy-in. Now he'll be able to go to Vegas and compete with the world's top poker players for the burgeoning prize pool, which is expected to hit $100 million by the time the main event starts.
