World Poker Tour Enterprises and U.S. Playing Card Honored for Licensing Accomplishments
WPT Enterprises (WPTE) announced that it and licensing partner U.S. Playing Card (USPC) have been named Sports/Special Brands Licensee of the Year for 2004 by the International Licensing Industry Merchandisers' Association (LIMA) at its International Licensing Excellence Awards. WPTE produces the televised World Poker Tour (WPT) programming for the Travel Channel, and also oversees licensing for the WPT brand.
Both companies were honored for U.S. Playing Card's Official World Poker Tour ™ poker sets, which was the hot consumer item this past holiday season. The deal between WPTE and USPC was engineered by licensing agency Brandgenuity, which brokers many of WPTE's licensing deals.
"We are extremely honored to be chosen for this singular achievement," commented Andrea Green, Director of Global Consumer Products for WPT Enterprises, Inc. "Given that we are still a very young company and that this was our first year in the market, it says a lot about the quality of the partnerships we are endeavoring to develop, thanks to Brandgenuity, which is spearheading our entire licensing campaign to build the WPTE Global Consumer Products division."
