Only two weeks after online gaming regulatory body eCOGRA accepted online poker software provider Ongame into its member ranks, eCOGRA gave a nod to yet another online poker venture, PokerRoom.com. The online poker room, which is incidentally owned by Ongame, will now bear eCOGRA's "Play It Safe" seal.

By gaining the eCOGRA seal, PokerRoom.com will benefit from eCOGRA's regulatory supervision, monitoring the areas of payout, customer service and the general fairness of operations. eCOGRA awarded PokerRoom its "Play it Safe" seal only after rigorously examining the online poker site's daily operations.

PokerRoom's achievement is twofold, in that it is the first online poker site to gain the eCOGRA "Play it Safe" seal. Patrik Selin, CEO of PokerRoom.com cited his company's achievement as "an important step forward... Real and practical regulation such as eCOGRA offers has benefits for everyone, protecting the players and at the same time enforcing high levels of professional and business conduct at both the software provider and poker room level."
