Online poker room InterPoker has reached a deal to advertise during the televised broadcast of the Montreal Grand Prix, as well as during other major sports events this year. InterPoker and its sister site, online casino InterCasino, will both air 30-second advertisements, in a move that is likely to dramatically increase the sites' visibility. The fact that an online poker site is advertising during televised broadcasts of major sporting events is further testament to online poker's continually growing appeal and legitimacy.

Peter Marcus, a spokesman for InterPoker, similarly saw the poker boom as allowing the online poker room to advertise at such major events. "Poker is catching on like wildfire -- and that gives InterPoker the resources and the confidence to take its message to one of the world's premier sporting events," he said.
