Today at 2 pm GMT, the SKY cable platform will officially launch its new poker channel, pokerzone, which will be offered in over 8 million homes. The UK cable provider's newest addition highlights the explosion of poker in the UK.

Unlike other channels featuring poker programming, pokerzone broadcasts more than just poker tournaments, with programming covering the entire gamut of poker content. Aside from tournament coverage, pokerzone features poker themed movies and lifestyle programs, as well as poker-related documentaries.

Another unique feature of pokerzone is 'Poker Night Live,' the first live televised poker tournament to combine televised poker with online poker. Players compete online, but have their performance covered on TV. Greg 'The Axxeman' Winters and 'Dr.' Tom Sambrook serve as commentators for the competition, analyzing plays made by competing online poker players.
