Staged Poker Kidnapping Tale Proves False
A California pastor, accused of staging his own kidnapping as an excuse to go play poker, has had his name cleared. The Rialto, CA chief of police issued a public statement, admitting that the kidnapping proved to be genuine and that a police supervisor concocted the staged kidnapping scenario. Police Chief Michael Meyers conceded that the said poker game did not exist and that the pastor, Rev. Kevin Brown, was not previously acquainted with his abductors. The allegation that Brown fabricated his own kidnapping arose when an anonymous police supervisor allegedly entered the poker kidnapping hoax scenario into an incident log. Reporters were also later informed by a watch commander that the pastor faked his own kidnapping, as a means of escape to go out gambling. The story currently being told says that strangers approached Brown at his home, begging for a ride to escape supposed attackers. After initially refusing, Brown ultimately agreed and was then abducted in his own car. Brown and his car were found just minutes after Brown's wife placed a call to 911. Brown was then accompanied home by police.
