Market research publisher Research and Markets announced the release of "Online Poker - Driving Gambling to New Heights," their new report on the burgeoning online poker industry. With the success of land-based poker, as well as online gambling in general, online poker's noteworthy success is no surprise. In response to this growth, Research and Markets surveyed industry experts to gain an understanding of the changing attitudes regarding online poker.

The report's key findings demonstrated that most industry experts see poker's rising success to continue in the coming years. More specifically, 60 percent of the survey's participants saw online poker becoming online gambling's prevailing offering within a matter of years. Seventy five percent expected online poker revenues to top $4 billion worldwide, also within the next few years.

Although the study predicted growth for the online poker market in general, competition within the industry was expected to become progressively tighter as the market widens. Participating industry experts cited the formation of poker networks, as well as poker site consolidation and the creation of more poker sites by online betting companies as some of the best ways to achieve success.

The survey also predicted the online poker industry's continued expansion into Europe. More than half of the industry insiders surveyed cited Europe as offering the greatest potential for online poker ventures.
