International Poker Tours Tournament Gets Visit from Daniel Negreanu
In another display of Daniel Negreanu's Toronto hometown pride, the poker pro helped kick off an International Poker Tours (IPT) tournament taking place at a local sports bar. The IPT tournament and others like it are apparently helping boost business for bars, which have suffered a recent blow as a result of both the smoking ban and the hockey league standstill. The tournament was held in conjunction with the International Poker Tours, which hosts poker tournaments that focus on the recreational aspects of the game, putting gambling in the background. Part of the tournament's proceeds will be funneled to the Canadian Charity Association. Negreanu is one of the top players on the professional poker circuit today, boasting $4.4 million in winnings just last year.
