Professional poker player Howard Lederer has signed an agreement with Summus, Inc., a wireless media provider, to develop "Professor of Poker," a Texas hold'em game for mobile phones. The game gets its name from Lederer, known on the poker circuit as the Professor of Poker.

The game will feature tournament Texas Hold'em, complete with a tutorial aspect to help players enhance their poker skills. Professor of Poker will set players against five pro poker stars before they continue to battle it out against the Professor himself. In addition to Lederer, players featured include Chris Ferguson, Phil Gordon, Greg Raymer, Matt Savage and Lederer's own sister, Annie Duke. The game integrates tournament play with tutorial features by offering tips after each hand played.

Summus and Lederer plan to launch an aggressive marketing plan for the mobile poker game. The strategy includes promoting the game at Lederer's poker fantasy camps and via his DVD series.
