Texas Hold'em for Charity
Poker's rampant popularity has left the world torn on the issue, with some advocating the game as a harmless form of entertainment, and others bad-mouthing its gambling properties. Well, the Hollywood Park Casino is playing the most popular form of poker, Texas Hold'em, for a worthy cause. On Friday, February 25, the Girls and Boys Town of Southern California is holding its first Poker at the Park No Limit Texas Hold’Em Tournament and Banquet, hosted by the Hollywood Park Casino. Poker buffs will compete for prizes including vacations in New York and Ireland, as well as for tickets to Dodgers, Angels and Lakers games. All participants will at least get to take home a copy of Doyle Brunson's Poker Bible “Super System" as well as a Girls and Boys Town logo golf shirt. Proceeds will benefit the Girls and Boys Town of Southern California, the local division of the Father Flanagan Nebraska Boys Town. The organization benefits child victims of abuse, abandonment and neglect.
