Texas Hold 'em for Mobiles now Java-Enabled
With Texas Hold'em being all the rage these days, it's convenient that poker enthusiasts can play where ever they are, thanks to Texas Hold'em by Phil Hellmuth, a wireless game produced by mobile media provider Summus, Inc. The game has recently become available for Java-enabled mobile phones using the J2ME™ platform. The new version of the game, which is endorsed by World Series of Poker champ Phil Hellmuth, is already available through one principle wireless carrier and is expected to become available through several additional J2ME supporting wireless carriers within weeks. Both solo-play and multiplayer versions of Texas Hold'em by Phil Hellmuth are available, and the latter option allows players to compete with other players across the country. As the game features cross-carrier compatibility, multiplayer poker games can be played regardless of the players' wireless carriers. Initially, Texas Hold'em by Phil Hellmuth was offered on Qualcomm's Brew® platform, which is presently available on seven wireless servers. Demand for the game is constantly on the rise with the number of recurring subscribers to the Brew version growing each month by approximately 20%.
