New Poker Flick Prepares to Start Production

With poker's exploding popularity, the game is popping up on more and more television networks. Poker isn't just taking over the small screen though; it's making its way to the big screen as well. Production for a new poker-themed film from Warner Bros., titled "Lucky You," is set to begin production in March on location in Las Vegas.

The movie takes place behind-the scenes of high-stakes professional poker. Eric Bana stars as Huck Cheever a promising young poker player battling his inner demons as he competes in a world championship tournament in Las Vegas. Opposite Bana costars Drew Barrymore and the film is directed by Curtis Hanson, director of L.A. Confidential and 8 Mile. The film's screenplay was written by Eric Roth, who won an Academy Award for his screenplay for Forest Gump.
